What happened
I almost paid ₹1,590 for a "Machine Learning Internship." Last week, I received an offer letter from a company called Atlys Nexus Innovations for an ML internship complete with a welcome letter, salary structure of ₹23,000/month, and an LOR promise. It looked legitimate. It felt exciting. Then I noticed the fine print: "To CONFIRM your enrolment, you are required to pay ₹1,590." That one line changed everything. Here's what I learned from this experience: 🚩 Red flag #1: Legitimate companies never ask candidates to pay an enrollment fee. Ever. 🚩 Red flag #2: A ₹23,000/month salary mentioned alongside a ₹1,590 "security deposit" is a classic bait-and-switch. 🚩 Red flag #3: "Project details will be shared on or before commencement" no real internship is this vague about actual work. 🚩 Red flag #4: All work becomes their IP and you can't discuss it publicly conveniently preventing you from warning others. I didn't pay. I did my due diligence instead. If you're a fresher or student actively looking for internships please read every offer letter carefully before getting excited. The desperation to land that first opportunity is exactly what these scams exploit. Your skills are real. Your portfolio is real. Don't let anyone monetize your ambition. Stay sharp. 🙏
